Greetings Austinites (especially you Anonymous Anomalists), Welcome to the inaugural issue of Austin-Para-Times, Central Texas' best source for Alternative Intelligence. I'm SMiles Lewis, your host and guide through the multiple worlds and possible paradigms explored herein. Before we begin, let me answer a question on a lot of people's minds, "What exactly does 'PARA' mean?" Well ... strictly speaking:
As "Austin Para Times" we are both Beyond and Beside the local mainstream media while necessarily sharing surface Similarities with them. We will seem both Parapolitically Incorrect and Parajournalistically Subsidiary because of our explorations into Para-Normal Realities. Para realities are by nature contrary to consensus reality. So for you naif's and neophytes out there, fretting over the ontological status of these Paranoid Conspiracies and Paranormal Realities, don't you worry... everything contained herein is but a Similar (immitative), Subsidiary (lesser), politically Incorrect publication speculating Beyond the pale, existing Beside the mainstream. Our memes are already working on your subconscious - the Truth is a virus, according to Mtv. And they oughta know! For you Seekers out there who know "sumbunall" these things are true, you just found your best local resource for all things Anomalous. Stephen Miles Lewis was State Section Director for the Travis and Williamson County chapters of the Mutual UFO Network. Web designer and print publisher of E.L.F. Infested Spaces Journal of Possible Paradigms. He also serves as Secretary, Webmaster and Librarian within INACS (Institute for Neuroscience And Consciousness Studies). Miles served as facilitator for Austin's UFO Experiencer Support Group for nearly ten years and has spoken to local and national radio/TV/print media. In 1995 he spoke at the national Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness conference on the subject of UFOs as a transformative paradigm.
