RV is a method of utilizing human ExtraSensory Perception faculties previously described as Telepathy, Psychometry, Clarvoyance, Distant Sight, and a host of other terms.

-What are the limits of Remote Viewing?
 

This is rather unclear. Classic RV attempted to discern objects, people or places at various distances from the psychic remote viewer. Attempts were made to find the effective range limits of this ability but none have yet been found. Viewers have been able to "perceive" targets anywhere on the earth and have even been successful viewing targets off-planet but still in our solar system. Even more interesting is the ability to discern RV information from the future. This most interesting area of research will be explored more deeply in our own Precognitive Remote Viewing experiments.

-What factors can positively and negatively effect accurate Remote Viewing?
 

Research has clearly shown that there is a psi sensitive personality type. Conversely there is strong evidence of a psi negative personality type. So generally speaking it helps to be open minded to such phenomena. Also, altered states of consciousness seem to enhance some psi effects. Another factor influencing psychic functioning appears to be GeoMagnetics as well as certain other astronomical factors. The ARVC will explore these connections in future articles.

-Who can use Remote Viewing succesfully?
 

Psychic abilities appear to be available to everyone. However, each person's ability varies and some individuals seem to be significantly better (or worse) than the general population.

-Who "discovered" Remote Viewing?
 

Attempts to discern details of distant times, places, and peoples through the powers of the mind have been attempted throughout human history. Remote Viewing, the most recent terminology / technique, was introduced by Ingo Swann and researchers investigating his abilities.

-Who has promoted or is involved in Remote Viewing?
 

In the the mid 1990s the United States "revealed" the existance of a decades long involvement in psychic research utilizing Remote Viewing as an adjunct to its Military/Intelligence services. Since that time a number of militarily trained people have come out with their own books, training courses, and web sites supporting and promoting continued operational use of RV. The US government and military have since disavowed the research and claim to no longer be exploring or exploiting RV.

-When was remote viewing "discovered" or first used?
 

Psychic Ingo Swann appears to be the first person to use the term Remote Viewing in modern psi research. The term appears to have been coined in the early 1970s.

-"When" can a person Remote View?
 

This is a trick question. First, most RV sessions involve the viewer utilizing a calm mental state and a calm environment. However, highly skilled psychics and trained remote viewers have described the ability to maintain a generally psi sensitive / intuitive openness at all times. This has been a state long sought after in most mystical traditions. Second, the above question relates to the claimed ability of psi functioning to be both transtemporal and transspatial; ie-one's consciousness can perceive sensory data not only physically far removed from one's pressence but also forward or backwards thru time. Incredible as this may seem, more and more consciousness research and physics studies are proving this to be true.

-Where is the evidence for Remote Viewing as an effective means of obtaining information?
 

For around two decades the United States government spent millions of dollars on military and intelligence agency research into a variety of psychic intelligence gathering techniques. These millions of dollars were justified in the face of Soviet research into similar psi technologies.

But long before the US or former Soviet Union research, parapsychologists and spiritualists and shamen the world over had been trailblazing headlong into these realms.

A huge body of literature exists of Spontaneous and Laboratory examples of positive psychic functioning. The scientific investigation of these phenomena has yielded a large database of such examples. See the following links for more information:

-How does one "do" Remote Viewing?

-How does Remote Viewing work?
 

This is the big question. There have been many theories and even more speculations. However, a working knowledge of its engineered and its spontaneous cases gives us all the information we need to begin actively utilizing this powerful positive force.

-Why should anyone Remote View anything?
 

Different people will do it for different reasons. Telepathy and the lot of ESP phenomena have been utilized for espionage throughout human history. The Ethical use of psi is a most valid topic for discussion and effects all of our freedoms of privacy and freewill.

Discussions about powers of the mind such as telekinesis, telepathy and a host of other ExtraSensory Perceptual faculties inevitably bring us face to face with some of the most powerful myths of humankind:  Eating the Apple from the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden (and subsequent expulsion), Pandora's Box, and of course Icarus.

Most mystical traditions acknowledge the existance of such powers along the many paths to enlightenment. Others teach that these powers are the goal of enlightenment and open the doors to humanity's ultimate evolutionary destiny.

Whatever your theological beliefs it must be admited that RV and other utilizations of psi phenomena portend an enormous potential for the easing of human suffering. The evidence supporting all these bold assertions can only lead a person to one conclusion: humans are hardwired to the pulse of the universe and the personal experiencing of the mind's power gives one new insight into our interconnectedness with this interactive Universe.
