ARVC-03

Senses=sight

General Description=El Sol y La Luna. The target/goal is a package
containing two plastic hanging ornaments. One is the Sun the other is the
Moon. The overall package is a thin rectangular 'cardboard' backing with
two round 'wells' where the ornaments reside. The main rectangle is made of
some sort of dark green, textured, fabric like paper/cardboard. The backing
in the wells is red paper/cardboard that has a different fabric like
texture - less 'relief' "topographicly" than the green material. The entire
back is the same red material. The TOTAL package is wrapped in a plastic bag
which is sealed on the back. The plastic is of medium maleability. The
texture of the cardboard like materials can be felt slightly thru the
plastic.

Above each 'well' is a small hole punched all the way thru the backing. It
would seem they were intended as the place for the ornaments' strings to be
tied off.

The Sun and Moon ornaments themselves are made of a tin type material
which, because they are loose in the package, occassionally bump against
each other giving off a "tinny" tone. The eyes of the Sun and the eye of
the Moon are small round redish things which kind of match the red backing.
Each ornament has a central portion of flat tin, the Sun is gold and the
Moon is silver. Each has raised 'tin' strips on their face for detail. The
other prominant aspect of the two ornaments is the use of wire for the
lattice like edge of the sun and the web like portion of the moon. This
'wire' looks ribbed, segmented, notched, etc. on both pieces and often end
in curly semi-circles.

On the back of the plastic bag is a white square with barcode inside.
Written under the barcode is "Made in Nepal / Fabrique au Nepal" and under
this "recycled paper / papier recycle".

body=Object could fit in LARGE pocket. Smaller than breadbox.

Though paper and tin are "natural", these elements have been 'worked' to
form the object..

The target is both common and familiar to me (Miles), as their is a
restaurant around the corner called El Sol y La Luna which has tons of such
ornaments. This is also a common motif in most cultures, especially
Mediterrainean, Hispanic, Spanish or Mexican - of which I've much
experience.
