The Sleep of the Towers

 

1. The Basement of Catastrophe

On September 9, 2001, I have the following dream: I am in the basement of The Towers dorm in Madison, WI., on State Street. I was a student in Madison many years ago but have never been in the basement of The Towers. In fact, I do not know if the place still is a dorm (from "dormir" Latin for "sleep") for university students or if it even exists any longer. It does in this dream. There is a bar in the basement and some sort of event is being planned or prepared here. I have what I would describe as a "guide" here, someone familiar with the group, maybe a fraternity, putting on the party which is to happen some time later. My inclination is to say my guide here is like Robin William's son played by Cuba Gooding, his guide in the "afterlife" in the film What Dreams May Come. We tour around the bar, but do not drink. From one end of it we see what I can only describe as a horrific series of "special effects," special effects from films I mean. I watch down behind the bar as it becomes a city street. There is some kind of explosion or earthquake and buildings begin to topple. As they do there are explosions, fireballs, and other effects we have seen in a hundred different Hollywood films from Air Force One, to True Lies in which a plane flies through a building. But in particular there is the billowing cloud of fire and smoke effect from Independence Day after the "aliens" blast the Empire State Building. I recall as I watch the horrified "oh, shit!" of one characters from the film as the billowing cloud of death approaches him. In fact, so "real" are these special effects down in the basement of this dorm or tower of sleep that they cause me to turn away to flee as the cloud bears down the bar at me. As I prepare to flee I wake up to lie panting in bed wondering what exactly is it I have seen?

 

2. The Empire Strikes Back

In the next dream I am out on State Street in front of the location where The Towers used to be. They are no longer there. There is a . . . parade going by, headed up State Street toward the Capitol; except it's not the State Capitol dome up the street, it's the National Capitol in Washington, the huge dome towering there. No, wait a minute, it's the even bigger dome of St. Peter's Church in Rome. Hundreds of people file by, floats, bands playing the music from Star Wars or some similar film and in general the parade reminds me of the parade at the conclusion of the latest episode of the Lucas epic. Movie stars and directors, political and religious figures pass down the street in convertibles waving. Here comes David, the robot boy, from AI, he's the Grand Marshall or maybe the Homecoming King! What a grand event! Then why don't I feel . . . good, or happy? Why do I feel so awful, like I'm a ghost or a walking corpse? Why is there this . . . gray dust all over me? And here comes the last float! It's the . . . Kaaba! It's the black draped cube, the holiest site in Islam, from the Grand Mosque in Mecca! Hundreds of people including George Bush, Billy Graham, Cardinals, senators and many smiling, waving Islamic leaders including Osama Bin Laden, mullahs and Hezbollah terrorists are walking by together behind it--what could this mean!

 

3. The Separation of Church and State

 

Madison, Wisconsin was named for James Madison, the fourth president of the United States. While a Virginia Assemblyman he authored the Statute of Religious Freedom passed in 1786 responsible, in part, for the separation of church and state. I have learned over the years through hundreds of dreams about Madison, the Capitol of the State of Wisconsin, that it represents, symbolizes this issue in my dreams: the separation, or lack of it, of church and state. As is evident in the above dreams which occurs in this city of "Madison" this can mean the issue of the separation of church and state in Madison on a state government level or more generally in our federal government in Washington, D.C. or in the Vatican, in Rome, an institution interested in establishing a Kingdom of God upon the earth. In the above dream the whole range of governments, "Madisons" is represented with The Vatican in Rome overtopping them all. All of these places represent aspects of the issue of the separation of Church and State as exemplified by Madison and his statute.

4. Legalized Schizophrenia

But how, it may be asked, can such a Kingdom of God be established when there is legally established separation of the two powers, church and state? How can George Bush, and most other presidents and public leaders proclaim they are practicing, worshipping Christians, believers in God, the Bible, Christ, prophecy, establishment of the Kingdom of God on the one hand and elected, secular officials on the other? How, on the other hand, can religious leaders preach these things from a Kingdom doctrine and then go mount the completely different horse of liberal, humanist politics? Isn't this, at the very least, serving two masters? at the worst, schizophrenic? The Bible is not schizophrenic, it makes no bones about its intention to establish a Kingdom of God on earth, not a Democracy run by the likes of Clinton or Bush. In some Islamic countries they have examples like the Taliban, of such governments where there is no separation, where the law is from Allah, the mullah both religious and secular leader. At least they are not schizophrenic! If the Taliban is the choice then I'd rather be crazy than cured! But surely there is a less crazy way?

5. The Covenant with the Dark

The answer to this question "how such a Kingdom of God can be established even though there are human laws separating church and state" is to be found in the dream world. And Yes, Rosemary, the "dream world" is real. It is not a "special effect," just a movie. In the dream world of "Madison," Wisconsin, there is no such separation of church and state. In the dream world I visit every night there is no difference between the Will of Allah, the God of Islam, and the Will of Jehovah, the God of Christianity and Judaism. In the dream world of the unconscious where these "Gods" work to fulfill their prophecies about establishing the Kingdom of God on Earth, by bringing the Apocalyptic fire of a terrorist bombing such as the Trade Towers event there is no difference between Jehovah and Allah, Christian, Muslim and Jew. In fact, all three religions are working secretly below the surface toward the same ends. In this respect, George Bush, Ariel Sharon, Yasar Arafat, and a Hezbollah terrorist are all like the Ed Norton character from Fight Club. They all have the same Id Monster alter ego in operation in the unconscious to accomplish the Will of their God by toppling the towers. One God. One religion. One Kingdom. In the dream world I see the toppling of the World Trade towers is a great triumph deserving of a parade attended by all the parties involved. In the unconscious or dream world where there is no legal separation of church and state, where "God" may work to accomplish His Apocalyptic Will all three of these religions are identical, all serving scriptural programs designed to establish The Kingdom of God on earth. Our secular leaders paying Ed Norton lip service to the notion of the separation of church and state are actually engaged in secret in the undermining of human governments and their replacement by Theocracies. While superficially different and enemies on the surface they all serve the same master operating in darkness in the basement.

6. The Kingdom of God

How will the Trade Center bombings serve this purpose? Ask yourself what is America going to become in the coming years? Ask yourself about vast increases in airport and other security, in thought-police ready to jump on your every wayward thought or impulse. Ask yourself what institutions will benefit and grow, nay positively flourish because of these bombings? Will it be education, health and the arts or will it be The Defense Department, the CIA, the "spooks?" Churches will prosper as pastors, priests and mullahs of every stripe preach from their various pulpits including the newsdesks like Judy Woodward couldn't resist doing on my TV as the wounded stumbled down New York streets. Ask yourself what sort of politician is going to prosper in all the contries involved in this bombing? Start watching for the American clone of Ariel Sharon to appear on the scene. Watch him preach endlessly on the need for more security, better weapons, more funds for defense, a religious revival, a return to our spiritual roots. This is the Kingdom of God. Do you want it? It is designed to imprison you from within. There is another choice. Do you see what it is? That choice is to continue the separation of church and state into the unconscious, into dreams to outlaw acts, the special effects of God accomplished there under cover of darkness. It is to recover all of human consciousness for human purposes.
