Some time ago while working for Austin's
most famous computer game company I chanced upon a dark tale set within
the heart of Austin. "Ted" (pseudonym) was a respected employee of this
company working in the areas of audio, video, and computer art. Of the
company's then 250 employees he was one of three who confided in me their
intense interest and experiences with UFO related encounters. As a sort
of renaissance creative type he and his specific "encounters" fit the bill
of cyclical ElectroHypersensitivity / Abduction type experiences:
Multi-witness Phil Dickian style lights in his house,
Effecting of electrical equipment,
An emotional affinity for the standard Grey face,
Lifetime interest in EM equipment / communications,
Cyclical bedroom visitation leaving footprints, body
aches,
and much more.
Ted's knowledge and experience with electromagnetic
(radio, etc.) communications helped in his open-minded acceptance of the
probable mind-altering effects of ufo related EM energies. This was so
much the case that Ted had local electric utility company personnel come
to his home and measure for excessive EM pollution. Though no "excessive"
energies were detected Ted continued to contemplate the connections between
UFOs and psychotronic energy technologies.
Sometime during the early days of Austin's SXSW (South By South West) Music Festival Ted was working as a sound engineer at one of the myriad of venues. While loading up the equipment after the show he and his friend were both handed tabs of LSD. [see drug disclaimer below] Having to move quickly and with no easy storage available they simply placed the tabs within their mouths. Upon finishing loading the equipment, they went to a nearby restaurant to eat. The LSD kicked in quickly and they found themselves without an appetite and took the food in doggy bags and headed for Mount Bonnell (Austin's "highest" spot in the city).
Upon arriving and making their way up the hundreds of stairs it takes to reach the top they turned their attentions toward the twinkling lights of central Austin. They began talking about all the money that was "out there" and what it was that was keeping them from having some of it. While still watching the lights of the city they noticed a distinct glow they had never seen before. It seemed to be coming from the direction of the University of Texas campus area. They distinctly felt malevolence from this glow and decided to attempt to track it to its source.
Making there way to Campus they tracked the glow to its source: IC2. By this time it was early morning, perhaps 5:30 - 6:30 am. They prowled around the building sensing the sacred geometry and occult qualities which abound around the triangular structure. No one was present as they peered through the glass front doors looking at the buildings room directory board on which Ted noted references to projects of a psychotronic nature.
Later that day they phoned IC2 to ask them a few questions. The person answering the phone told them they were having a conference that very day but that it was not open to the public; only invited business guests were being allowed. At this point Ted and friend dropped their inquiries.
Some time later Ted happened upon an IC2 catalog of recommended documents many of which were specifically about psychotronics /electropsychophysiology. Ted said it had been in the possession of a fellow employee of said computer game company.
After I lost contact with Ted I told his tale to
a fellow ufo researcher who's husband told me more about IC2. Apparently
IC2 is a funnel for business application of Federal educationally ear-marked
funds. Their projects range from seminars designed to spread capitalism
in a geometric "domino" fashion to high technology research. Most interesting
though is the pressence of Austin's own Bobby Ray Innman on IC2's board
of directors. Mr. Innman who is also head of Wackenhut Security who guard
such sites as Area 51 and other lesser known military facilities. Mr. Innman
who is also the head of SAIC; the biggest military contractor in the world
who are working on ultra-tech projects at Area 51 and other sites. Bobby
Ray, I would say, has his bases covered.
Never take a drug you don't fully understand.
We do not advocate the use of illicit -or any for that matter- drugs by uninformed individuals. However, we recognize that many people will choose to use drugs whether they are informed or not.
Our hopes are that, through education, more informed choices will be made, thereby minimizing the risks often associated with substance use.
We do not want to encourage drug use. We do want those who choose to use these substances to do so in a knowledgeable and responsible manner.
