BLUE ROSE REPORT #3 - Archive Now Online

Last night's show was unscripted and very FUN! Friend and coconspirator Craig York called in and we began discussing Cryptozoology and anomalous animal behaviors in the news. We discussed the increase in public awareness of cryptozoology and the media's playing up of animal news stories. We careened across continents discussing Central Texas cougar sightings, giant insect nests, Indian elephant rampages and rice beer (1998/99 and 2005/06), psychotic American raccoon gangs, manic monkeys, Texas Bigfoot & Ghost-Lights and much more!

Mack White called in and added to the discussion, starting the rampaging elephants thread and speaking of North Texas cougar sightings. Eventually my friend Jimmy called to chime in about Central Texas cougar sightings and by the end of the show we finally had our first "unknown" caller, Carlos, in the last five minutes of the show, inquiring about the conjunction of Bigfoot and UFO reports which we had briefly touched upon earlier. We mentioned local researchers such as Rob Riggs and more well known writers such as Jerome Clark and Loren Coleman who, once upon a time, wrote books connecting these two subjects.

You'll hear Guest Adam Gorightly as well as calls from Mack White and Greg Bishop.

We talked about Consciousness, Psychedelics, UFOs and  Contactees like Philip K. Dick, Robert Anton Wilson and John C. Lilly. Gorightly talked about his three books: Shadow Over Santa Susanna, The Prankster and the Conspiracy as well as his most recent tome, The Beast of Adam Gorightly - Collected Rantings '92 to '04.

Gorightly also educated us about another connection for explaining the name of our show ... The Blue Rose Report. Seems there is a Contactee saucer cult leader, the Rev. Bob Short who founded The Blue Rose Ministry and ministered for years out at the Giant Rock, Joshua Tree, Landers, California vortex with some of the original 50s / 60s Contactees.

I've cleaned up the audio of the version available via the Elfis Network - had to edit out the 5 minutes of mostly dead air as I accidentally put the guest Mack White and our first caller (a conservative from Brooklyn) on the air while at the same time I had muted my own mic. Hey, it's live Radio!

We had a great time and I can't wait to do the next show.


The music you hear bookending the show is a track called Antique China Dolls done by my friend Jason (aka Shaman Productions) who was the Layout Artist for the Austin Para Times newspaper I used to edit.
